I recently read a story about this guy who grew up in an absolute poverty in Zaire.
He digs his way through a rigid bureaucratic education system and succeeds in using education to make important breakthroughs. He goes on to do big things in life. He gets married to a girl from Scotland. Her parents are apparently big racists.
He dreamed only twice in his life. He had three dreams, the first two of which came the same day and were realized in the same year.
The third dream is kind of elusive. It was sudden, almost deterministic. Something about a place somewhere in Massachusetts that he wanted to go. And he did.
The story was sort of a common- yet bizarre- narrative.
(P. S. The lack of specifics are intended)
